What to look for
- Pants: waterproof shell pants, quick-dry nylon-spandex, and pleated or articulated knees that make climbing a slope easier.
- Jackets: a packable UV-protective layer for sun and a softshell for wind.
- Extras: a quick-dry UPF tee, light shorts and a wide-brim hat.
These are pieces for day hikes and trail walks rather than technical alpine kit; each product page lists the label's own description of fabric and function.
Labels to know
SILENSTORM makes 3-layer waterproof hiking shell pants and a water-repellent bucket hat. ENSHADOWER offers waterproof and camo hiking pants and a jacket that folds into its own pouch, and CATSSTAC a vented, packable UPF100+ shell.
From trail to town
Most pieces here look as ordinary in a café as on a path. For rain, add a jacket from Shells; for hot days, see sun-protection jackets. Our guide What is gorpcore? explains how trail clothing became everyday wear.
Hiking – FAQ
Are these clothes for technical mountain routes?
No. They suit day hikes, trail walks and travel. AFTERSOIL does not make performance claims beyond each label's own product information, shown on the product page.
Which hiking pants are waterproof?
SILENSTORM's hiking shell pants use a 3-layer bonded fabric with a Teflon coating, and ENSHADOWER's foam-pocket hiking pants are described as waterproof. Other pairs are quick-dry rather than waterproof.
How do the hiking pieces fit?
Fit varies by label and style, and many pieces are cut slightly oversized with room for layering. Check the size chart and measurements on each product page before choosing a size, or email info@aftersoil.com if you are unsure.
How much does shipping cost?

Standard shipping takes 5–10 business days after dispatch and is free on orders over $79 ($9 otherwise); expedited shipping takes 3–5 business days after dispatch.
